So I'll tell you this trip did not start out on the best note. We decided on our way to Little Rock we were going to meet Franks sister in Memphis and spend the weekend.
We left around 11am and I did get to get a bit of weaving done on the rode but halfway there decided to stop at a truck stop for lunch. I decided to feed Kett before going into using the bathroom and getting food. So I brought his glass bottle with me to clean out and put back in the bag. Well in the bathroom it was of course slippery and I slipped and out went his bottle shattering all over the Womens bathroom floor.
I wish you could have seen my face when it happened I had no idea what to even do. I just went to find someone and told them and apologized profusely for my stupid accident. After eating and leaving we finally got to our Airbnb in the Midtown area of Memphis around 4pm.
We brought our bags in, unpacked the ridiculous amount of stuff we brought took a nap and then decided to walk around Beale Street for a little while. After about a couple hours walk-in around we ordered a pizza from Aldo's Pizza from the Cooper Yound district and picked up a box of wine and headed back to the Airbnb to eat and start fresh the next day. I find while traveling finding the best pizza joints in town and ordering them to go seems to be the easiest route sometimes when you have a little one.
For breakfast we got up early and stopped at Muddy's Bake Shop for some delicious baked goods and coffee from the cutest gnome mugs. We then headed straight to the Dixon Gallery and Gardens to walk through. Some of my favorite pieces we saw included The Visitor by Mary Cassatt and then of course pieces by Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a lot of impressionism!
We then met with Franks sister and brother in law at Central BBQ. Which this was our first real experience in having a moving child in a busy restaurant. After Central we headed straight to Graceland. I brought the polaroid Franks parents used throughout his childhood and Candi, his sister thought it was the cutest thing. Everyone of course around us thought it was the funniest and cutest thing to be carrying around! But those instant moments are my favorite to capture and the best thing to add to Kett's little book.
We then ate dinner at Huey's all together and separated ways. It was such a fun unique place. We really try to stay away from most chain restaurants when traveling. It is so important to eat and shop local!
Our Airbnb was seriously the cutest ever! The next morning we pack up stopped at the infamous Gus's Fried Chicken and headed out to Little Rock.
